In Player settings, you can make changes to an Organization's video player, such as adding a custom logo to brand the Organization, changing the skin of the player, and customizing the appearance and size of closed captions.
To reach the Player menu, click Administration in the navigation pane, click Organization, then select Player (Administrator accounts only).
To access Player Settings, click the Action drop-down next to the organization you'd like to edit, then click Settings.
From the Settings menu, a System or Organization Administrator can select the JW Player options. The JW Player enables a responsive layout, as well as the option to choose between player skins and edit the appearance of closed captions.
The Player Settings window includes options for the integrated JW Player:
General Settings
- RTMP Buffer Length: Raise the buffer length to reduce re-buffering during playback. Lower it to reduce the delay on live streams. Default value 3, range .01 – 10
- About Text & About Link: Custom text and URL used as the right-click menu inside the player.
- Mute on Start: Playback will begin muted when this option is selected
- Use Responsive Embeds: Using responsive embed codes allows browsers to determine video dimensions based on the width of their containing block. This ensures the video will properly scale on any device.
- Captions "On" By Default: You can force captions "on" by default for an Institution or Organization video player.
Video On Demand Settings
- Default to HLS Stream: Indicates whether to use HLS as the default streaming protocol.

Below the Skin menu is the Logo menu:

To change the position of the logo over the player, use the Logo Position and Logo Edge Margin controls. Optional: Use a format like PNG that allows for transparency for a seamless/borderless logo like the JWPLAYER logo below.

Captions
If captions are not large enough, or they are difficult to read, their appearance can be customized for JW Player. High contrast is desired, such as bold dark text with a light outline or background, or white text with a dark background or strong shadow. You can edit the different languages of captions to make each unique, as well as edit the caption labels which will be seen in the player.
